Martin (AT) is professor of Interactive Experiences at University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Campus Hagenberg in Austria. His research focuses on the design and creation of virtual avatars and digital humans in the context of VR, HCI, and games. Specifically, he investigates how the visual appearance of avatars can be utilized to improve the experience and performance while using immersive technologies. As immersive technologies and applications are becoming more ubiquitous, his research is relevant for improving multimodal systems and user experience in MR/VR/AR productions and modern games. He has also been working on hand tracking or whole-body tracking systems in VR.
